Warren G. Lineberry Community Park
Warren G. Lineberry Community Park has been the biggest undertaking of the Partnership for Floyd. Since the Town of Floyd purchased the land in 2006, we have raised funds, gathered community input, organized projects, and brought volunteers and professionals together to build the beautiful spot we have today.
Today Lineberry Park is the backdrop for many community events throughout the year including Floyd Small Town Summer Concert Series and many others. Check visitfloydva.com/events for ongoing events.
The park is a dream come true for so many people. Once the site of an old livery stable and then an orchard gone to brambles, the land was purchased by the Floyd Town Council in 2006 from the Lineberry Family.
The Partnership for Floyd formed a park committee which was the driving force behind the design, fundraising, and construction of this lovely spot we can all enjoy. The Town Council provided funds and direction. Hundreds of good people from Floyd and beyond have contributed labor, products, funds and expertise to make the park dream a reality.
The Park to Library Trail begins in the back corner (behind the stage) and winds a short distance through the woods to the Jesse Peterman Memorial Library. There are two nature stories and about a dozen trees identified along the way, and a picnic bench to rest.
