Pioneer Trails on Pioneer Way
This trail is is NOT complete and is now under full control of the Commerce Park.
Since 2019 Partnership for Floyd worked with Floyd County to build a nature trail through the natural areas along the creek at the back of the Floyd County Commerce Park off of Rt. 615. This educational nature trail was to include story and identification signs to teach us more about our environment right here in the place we call home. The plan was to establish a bird blind shelter near the marsh and places to picnic in the woods along the Old Field Creek that runs gently through the forest.
Volunteers cleared the pathway, built bridges, parking lot and gated entrance and planted native trees. Scout Troop 19 planted 15 native fruit trees to attract birds to the sanctuary area!
